Technical, safety & prevention
Prevent the risk before you have to manage it
Courses for employers, managers and operational teams on the prevention of occupational risks, the safety of people and the everyday culture of safety.
Context
An employer duty before it is a training subject
French labour law places a general safety duty on the employer: assess risks, record them in the single risk assessment document, implement preventive measures and train staff in the safety of their post. On some aspects this is a duty of result, and it engages the liability of the organisation and of its managers.
Training here is therefore not one performance lever among others: it is a component of compliance. But a safety course that merely recites the regulations changes nothing on the ground. What changes behaviour is the analysis of real situations and the team taking ownership of the reasons behind the rule.
Our courses systematically connect the two levels: what the regulations require, and what that means concretely at the workstation.
Learning objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the occupational risks present at a workstation or in a working situation
- Apply the risk assessment approach and contribute to the single risk assessment document
- Distinguish the levels of prevention and prioritise the measures to be implemented
- Adopt the postures and handling techniques suited to their activity and prevent musculoskeletal disorders
- React appropriately to a dangerous situation or an accident
- Situate the respective responsibilities of the employer, the manager and the employee
- Run a safety briefing and keep prevention alive day to day within their team
- Analyse an accident or near miss and draw corrective measures from it
Who it is for
- Employers, directors and site managers
- Front-line managers, team leaders and workshop or department heads
- Members of the works council and staff representatives
- Safety leads, prevention officers and health, safety and environment staff
- All staff, for the awareness modules
Prerequisites
No prerequisites for the awareness modules. Modules aimed at prevention officers and managers assume actual responsibility for the organisation of work or the management of a team.
Programme
The modules that make up this field
The modules below combine into short courses of one to three days, or into longer pathways. The final programme is agreed with you at the scoping stage.
Employer duties on health and safety
Legal framework, the general safety duty, delegation of authority, civil and criminal liability, and the role of the bodies and actors of prevention.
Risk assessment and the single document
Method for identifying, rating and prioritising risks. Drafting, updating and making practical use of the single occupational risk assessment document.
General workplace safety awareness
Common risks, signage, protective equipment, instructions and what to do. A module for all staff, adaptable to your sector.
Posture, handling and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders
Principles of biomechanics, analysis of the constraints of the post, handling techniques and practical adjustment of the working situation.
Prevention of risks in screen-based work
Workstation set-up, visual fatigue, sedentary work, organisation of breaks and the specifics of remote working.
Analysis of accidents and near misses
Causal analysis method, cause tree, formalisation of corrective measures and monitoring of their actual implementation.
Leading safety day to day
Running a safety briefing, carrying out a site walk, addressing a behavioural deviation and sustaining collective vigilance over time.
Prevention of psychosocial risks
Recognising warning signs, understanding organisational factors, situating the manager's role and directing people to the right support.
What to do in an emergency
Alert, protect, evacuate, the role of each person and coordination with the emergency services. Practical awareness training, outside regulated certifying courses.
Safety culture and continuous improvement
Building a legible prevention policy, defining meaningful indicators and securing lasting involvement from managers and teams.
Key strengths
The law translated into practice
Every regulatory duty is brought back to what it means concretely for the organisation of work and for everyday behaviour.
Your real working situations
For in-company work we use your posts, your equipment and your past incidents. Generic safety training does not change behaviour.
Equipping the front line
We train first and foremost those who will keep prevention alive day to day: the front-line managers.
Delivery
How the course runs
Each day alternates short sequences of structured input with periods of practice. The cases worked on are drawn from the real environment of the participants. Materials are issued in digital form and remain available after the course.
- Structured methodological input, illustrated with examples from the field
- Case studies and practical exercises built around your context
- Role play, drills and individual feedback
- Sub-group work and comparison of practice
- A written personal action plan at the end of the pathway
The modules above are awareness and prevention training. They complement, without substituting for, the regulated courses that lead to an authorisation or certificate, which are delivered by specifically accredited bodies.

Frequently asked questions
Do your courses replace mandatory regulated safety training?
No. Courses leading to a regulatory authorisation or certificate are delivered by specifically accredited bodies. Our modules cover prevention, risk analysis, employer liability and safety culture. They complement regulated training rather than substituting for it.
Can you help us build our risk assessment document?
We train your teams in the risk assessment method and support you on structuring the document. Drafting and updating it remain the responsibility of the employer. For in-company work, the workshop can address your actual work units directly.
How long does it take to organise an in-company session?
Allow about four weeks between approval of the quotation and the first hour of training, longer if a preliminary site visit is needed to adapt the content.
